A systematic review on arbitration effects of horse riding for rehabilitation by diseases

Abstract
Objective : The purposes of this study are to verify arbitration effects of horse riding for rehabilitation by each disease and examine the studying tendency of horse riding for rehabilitation through the systematic consideration on arbitration effects by each disease when applying hourse riding for rehabilitation.

Method : Methods : The systematic consideration was conducted by making the words; hippotherapy, Equine-Assisted Therapy, etc. in Pubmed from Jan. 2000 to Mar. 2011.

Result : For the disease of studying object, cerebral palsy was the most with 4 studies and spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis were organized by one study. For the studying plan of each paper, Non-RCT studying, a comparative studying of two groups in similar experimental plan which can satisfy group¡¯s random assignment, same condition, successive measure, etc. were the mostly with 5 studies among the whole 6. And it was included by one study which selected individual experimental plan progressed by singular object. For the aspect of treatment effects, it was confirmed that 5 studies of the whole 6 obtained the significant effects same as the hypothesis of studying. But, the remain one studying didn¡¯t show the significant effects for walking and factors related with walking.

Conclusion : According to the result of this study, researchers should study more various diseases and more treatment possibilities of arbitration of horse riding for rehabilitation.
